Ron Ron Black is covered in deep black faux fur, which turns the round body into an almost graphic silhouette. The artist Marion Baruch created Ron Ron in 1972 as what she called an “object of company”: a furry round form with a tail, somewhere between a pouf and a pet. Its name echoes the sound of purring.
The body is soft polyurethane, upholstered in faux fur. At 80 cm across and 8 kg it is light enough to move from the sofa to the floor and back. Ron Ron has been shown at MAMbo in Bologna and at the museum of contemporary art in Geneva, and it sits easily between furniture and artwork.
Each Ron Ron is upholstered by hand, so the fur and the shape can vary slightly from piece to piece. It is also available in white.
