The Rivet Shelf explores basic storage facets within a single form, acting as a storage and display platform. Based on a riveting technique suitable for creating right-angled joints between separate laser-cut raw aluminium sheets, the shelf is assembled by hand with a hammer in a cold-forming assembly process developed by designer Jonas Trampedach in 2011.
About the Rivet series
Based on a historically known hand-building technique, the Rivet series consists of laser-cut raw aluminium sheets, which are then joined by a hand-hammering technique. A symbiosis of craftsmanship and industrial production, the Rivet series of aluminium storage furniture and tables is a celebration of honesty and materiality.
