Punch A Wall is a real punching bag disguised as a column of orange bricks. Studio Job designed it for Gufram in 2024 and built the piece on a contradiction: the bag invites a punch, while the image of a brick wall holds the fist back. Soft and hard, dream and reality meet in one object.
The bag is moulded from expanded polyurethane and finished entirely by hand with Guflac Ultra, the further development of the elastic paint Gufram introduced more than 50 years ago. The coating keeps the surface flexible and durable. The bag is 119 cm tall with a diameter of 38.5 cm and hangs from a 150 cm chain.
Punch A Wall is a limited edition of 333 pieces. Every brick is painted by hand, so pattern and colour vary slightly from bag to bag. It works as a training bag and, hung in a hall or studio, as a sculpture.
