There’s something quietly hypnotic about this one. Hundreds of hand-drawn circles, black on warm cream, pack together in a loose, pebble-like scatter that never quite repeats – the kind of pattern you keep glancing back at. It’s pared right down to two tones, which is exactly why it works so well in Japandi, minimalist and monochrome rooms. The long, narrow shape was made for those wide, awkward walls above a sofa or bed where nothing tall ever fits – hang it low and horizontal and it pulls the whole space together. If you love the calm, wabi-sabi side of Japanese design, this is an easy one to live with.
