Beschreibung
Detecma began as an equation. In 1967 the physicist Tullio Regge had the surface of a quartic mathematical function worked out by an electronic calculator, and Gufram gave the result a soft, rounded body. Gufram describes it as the first piece of furniture designed with the help of a calculator. The form resists a single name: it works as a pouf, as a low recliner and as a chaise longue.
The core is soft polyurethane, dressed in a removable fabric cover. At Ø 105 cm and 58 cm high, Detecma weighs about 14 kg and is easy to move from room to room. The upholstery is made by hand, so no two pieces are entirely identical.
Detecma is also available in green, blue, orange, red and grey. Giuseppe Raimondi’s Mozza and Alvar are built the same way and come in the same six colours. This version is covered in a bright, warm yellow fabric.
